It has a continuous rear hinge and a front closure with a small protruding tab and a smooth interior.

The piece comes from the silversmithing tradition of Florence, one of Italy's historic centers of goldsmithing. Its "★ 230 FI" hallmark corresponds to the Florentine registry of Irma Morandi, while the "800" mark identifies the silver fineness. The Italian hallmark system with a star, registration number, and provincial code allows its manufacture to be dated from the late 1960s onwards.
