French circular silver box, crafted by the Parisian silversmith Albert Deflon. The lid features guilloché decoration organized into concentric fields, with a central floral motif and a stylized vegetal border, while the undulating line work continues around the sides. The interior retains a gilded finish that contrasts with the silver exterior.
The maker's mark A-D with a gabion corresponds to Albert Deflon, documented at 24 rue Beaubourg in Paris between 1907 and 1920, an interval that allows for its manufacture to be dated to the early 20th century.
