Solid silver oval box made by Adie & Lovekin Ltd, one of Birmingham's most renowned workshops during the 19th and 20th centuries.
This Victorian Baroque-style embossed piece features a scroll and foliage design with a plain central shield, ideal for engraving initials. The interior is gold-plated (vermeil inside), and the box closes securely, maintaining its functionality and decorative value.
Adie & Lovekin Ltd was a very active manufacturer of silver toiletries and decorative gifts during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Their pieces are highly prized by collectors for the quality of their repoussé and sharp contrasts.
