French devotional medal in FIX gold, with an asymmetrical and fluid design characteristic of Art Nouveau, signed by the renowned medalist E. Becker (Edmond Becker (1871-1971)).
This piece, made around 1900, pays homage to Joan of Arc, medieval heroine and saint, a symbol of courage, faith and freedom.

On the obverse, Joan's profile portrait is framed by banners bearing a medieval inscription and a fleur-de-lis, emblem of the French monarchy. On the reverse, a crossed sword and banner, surrounded by laurel branches, evoke her military leadership and martyrdom.

The distinctive FIX hallmark in gold guarantees a high-quality, tarnish-resistant finish, highly valued in French Belle Époque jewelry.
