Antique almond-shaped religious medal in silver, with the Immaculate Virgin on one side and a shield with crossed keys on the other, circa 1930-40.
This medal belongs to the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception of the parish of Saint Martin d'Ainay in Lyon. It was a devotional object used by members of the confraternity, notable for its unusual shape and detailed relief work. Inscriptions in French surround both sides, typical of religious pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was worn around the neck as a sign of faith and membership in the religious community.
