A great find, this 19th century silver fibula, decorated with a central turquoise and two mother-of-pearl pearls and decorated with gold or vermilion details.
Its design is characterized by a semi-spherical part with two lobes at the ends and a decorated spike that moves on it thanks to a ring. The entire body of the piece is adorned with an intricate interlacing of silver threads, decorated with a three-leaf clover at the top and two fleur-de-lis in gold views. The piece is crowned with a central turquoise and two pearls that finish off the semi-circle, as well as leaves in the circular part.
The combination of symbols such as the three-leaf clover and fleur-de-lis could suggest a significant cultural influence, possibly associated with Irish and French heritage. This piece is rare as the symbolic details are typical of the Provençal region and Scotland.
Probably dating from the late 19th century, this piece is an excellent example of the craftsmanship and design of the period, a valuable acquisition for collectors of antique jewellery and historical objects.
