Antique oval devotional reliquary made of silver with protective glass, dedicated to Saint Philomena. Inside, it preserves a textile relic identified by a handwritten cedula on a red silk background, framed with gold paper ornamentation. It stands out for retaining its intact original wax seal, guaranteeing that the reliquary has not been opened since its authentication.
The reverse shows a fine relief of Saint Philomena with the inscription STE PHILOMENE, depicted with the cross and palm of martyrdom among floral motifs. This type of reliquary was made for private devotion between the late 19th and early 20th centuries and today constitute prized pieces of sacred art and religious collecting. The piece is silver tested and also has a hallmark on the side.
