Antique French silver bar brooch with a faceted oval hematite stone. A restrained Art Deco design, circa 1915.
The stone is mounted in open prongs on a thin, linear-structured shank with a safety pin closure.
A sober and functional design, typical of early Art Deco, with a clear modernist influence in its structural approach and decorative minimalism. The dark gray hematite with a metallic sheen reinforces the contrast between material and form, accentuating its geometric character.
This piece was made around 1915-1925 in France, during the transition between Art Nouveau and the emerging Deco style. Ideal for vintage jewelry collectors or as a discreet brooch for formal attire.
