English Edwardian sterling silver box from 1919, polygonal in shape,

Out of stock

With a gently curved, Edwardian-style polygonal shape, this piece features a restrained design with a fine pearled rim that accentuates its contours. Its gilded interior adds a touch of luxury.

This sterling silver box was made in Birmingham in 1919, and all indications are that it was the work of silversmith Henry Matthews, whose hallmark "HM" is still partially legible. The British hallmark includes the lion passant (guaranteed for 925 silver), the anchor (symbol of Birmingham), and the Gothic "u" for the year 1919.
