Antique cross of floral micromosaic in glass and brass, Italian, ca. 1920s–1940s
Out of stock
Antique Latin cross pendant decorated with multicolored glass floral micromosaic on a brass base. This Italian piece dates from the 1920s and 1940s and is lavishly decorated with miniature micromosaic, a handcrafted technique that uses tiny glass tiles arranged by hand to form highly detailed and colorful floral motifs. The decoration features a variety of flowers in shades of pink, blue, white, and yellow against a black background, framed by a metallic wire.
The piece, unmarked, is made of brass or gilt bronze, with an engraved suspension ring and a solid structure. Of Italian origin, this type of jewelry was especially popular as a souvenir among Grand Tour travelers during the second half of the 19th century and beyond. It is highly prized by collectors.
Micromosaic combines technical precision with floral symbolism and a religious character. Ideal as a collector's item or devotional accessory with a strong aesthetic impact.
